1. Hi Eleonor, please introduce yourself:

My name is Eleonor , I’m an interior designer, living in Paris, mum of three children. I used to work for years as a set designer, fashion stylist, art director and on the side I was designing interiors at first for myself. Form times to times it just happend to design interiors for friends or offices, few clients and different projects. Then, 5 years ago, I decided to dedicate my time only to interior design. I mainly design for private interiors, but after this summer things take a new turn and I have new kind of projects as: a cabinet for esthetic surgery, restaurant…

2. In which room do you spend most of your time?

I would not say it’s just the kitchen, but mainly the kitchen table. Because it is the meeting point ever, this is not only the place where you cook, but the place where everything happens, around this amazing thing – the food.

3. What’s your favorite oldest interior piece and what’s your favorite latest purchase?

I have a few favorite interior pieces, I love to mock as old glass jar, which I love to drop a bit everywhere in an interior, I’m also a freak of antique pillow heads, then my latest purchase is an antique wooden folding screen from the 50`s, which looks like a piece from the beginning of 19th century. It represents a very old asian painting with birds.

4. What’s your favorite book or which book do you read at the moment?

At the moment I’m reading Mohammed, My Mother and Me of Julien Cohen, and the last I read the education of a fairy of Didier van Cauweleart.

5. Does Art play a role in your life?

Yes, of course! Especially contemporary  installions. One of the installations which really touched me in between violence and fragility was the exhibition of Mona Hatoum at the Centre Georges Pompidou in 2015.  And I really loved the last exhibition I saw at the Palais de Tokyo this last winter, with installions of spider webs of Thomas Saraceno.

6. How would your dream living situation look like?

It’s coming soon, it would be a house with a garden just at Paris’s border. With my kids in my house and my 21 year old daughter with her own loft at the other side of  the garden. And of course with my office at home.

7. Which interior piece do you want to buy soon?

Actually, I’m working on my summer house, and at the moment it’s not yet about decoration but mainly construction, so my obsession for the moment is to find old doors and to find the right color.

8. Would you tell us a few of your favorite design shops?

For contemporary design I like to shop at Edifice 27, bvd Raspail 75007 Paris. I like also in Marrakech the huge antique shop Blaoui, located in the medina: it’s Ali Baba’s Cave. In the flee market (Saint Ouen) I especially like to mock at the market l’Entrepot. It’s a place where you can find big stairs, glass and steel structures, doors.. This is the place I found my old bathtub and sink, the one have taken the picture of.

9. If someone would gift you a second flat or house where would it be?

New York. Maybe a big contemporary flat under a rooftop or the highest level in a 30’s building. But both with vegetated terrace.

(Classic wish but still amazing!)

10. What’s your next travel destination?

Morciano di Leuca in Puglia, Italy for holidays. And it’s a place I discovered through a friend who asked me to design her house over there in Gagliano del Capo.

11. What’s your all time favorite travel destination?

There is not just one travel destination. I like to travel and discover new places each time. Even if I’m used to travel lately a lot to Italy, where I discovered and was very seduced by The mural Grotesque in Firenze and her beautiful architecture.

12. What’s your favorite music/song at the moment?

“Couleur menthe à l’eau” the new version of Isaac Dellusion.

13. If someone visits Paris for the first time, which places would you recommend to go to?

The Grand Palais.
