Home Tour with Tim Labenda & Hannes Krause in Berlin
We are excited to share a new beautiful home tour with you guys today. We visited the talented interior & fashion consultant Tim Labenda and his boyfriend Hannes Krause who is working as a psychologist in their stunning apartment in Berlin. Find out all about them in our interview below. We hope you guys enjoy!
1.Hi Tim & Hannes, please introduce yourself :
We are Hannes Krause @hnns.vncnt & Tim Labenda @timlabenda living together with our little black poodle Putin in a Jugendstil apartment from 1912 in Berlin Neukölln. Hannes is a psychologist in the field of social media and well-being and I am an interior & fashion consultant (e.g. for Missoni) in Italy.
2. In which room do you spend most of your time?
Hehe.. that actually depends. Hannes spends most of his time in the kitchen and I am more the living room kinda person. Hannes loves to bake and cook when we are at home! As I hate chaos in general, I prefer to stay in the rest of the apartment and let Hannes do his thing <3. Besides this, I really adore the light situation in the living room. Its sun filled all over the day and I love to follow the shadows and light play that happens on sunny days!
3. What’s your favorite oldest interior piece and what’s your favorite latest purchase?
We both definitely love our vintage midcentury desk. Its a Ebay Kleinanzeigen catch, only 25€ at that time, and it was love on the first sight. Our latest purchase was the Hans J. Wegner Flag Halyard Chair produced by PP Mobler in Denmark. It was kind of a present to myself when we moved into the new apartment after renovating it by ourselves over the last summer. I love the timeless approach on the Wegner designs and I think the mix of materials is just perfectly chosen.
4. What’s your favorite book or which book do you read at the moment?
In general, we love to get inspired by picture books from all kind of disciplines. At the moment I am really obsessed with David Hockney, and since we visited the exhibition that is currently showing in Hamburg, I am in love with his books.
5. Does Art play a role in your life?
It ABSOLUTELY does! As I mentioned before, I especially adore David Hockney at the moment. His use of color is just incredible. But we also love modern sculptures, modern art in general (we just got a Steven Meisel photographic jacquard wall carpet from Loewe) and the young and independent art scene with artists like Yasmin Bawa.
6. How would your dream living situation look like?
Oh I think mostly like we are living today. Of course, I would always love more space to decorate, but in general we are very pleased and thankful how we live today.
7. Which interior piece do you want to buy soon?
Ohhhh there are so many, but all so precious. We would love the Gubi Epic Dining Table to be in our dining area as well as the Loafer Sofa from &Tradition. I would love to have a Mario Bellini Sofa around or a original Pierre Jeanerret lounge chair. There so many beautiful things we could list here…
9. If someone would gift you a second flat or house where would it be?
Well, I am daydreaming since ages of a little glass house bungalow at the Gespenster Wald close to Warnemünde at baltic sea side of Germany. It’s such a special place, romantic and mystic at the same time. We love the idea of moving there when we are old.
8. Would you tell us a few of your favorite design shops?
Ohhh! I definitely love Stilwerk in Berlin or Hamburg. Also Minimum here in Berlin or Dopo Domani. But also smaller shops are a great inspiration, Parkhaus Berlin or Hallesches Haus for example.
10. What’s your next travel destination?
Next up is New York, Milan, Marrakech and Tuscany. Depending on Corona of course xD
11. What’s your all time favorite travel destination?
Well, I think its hard to break it down to just one place… But If I had to choose it would be definitely Tuscany. We love Italy in general… its filled with beautiful spots, arts and amazing food.
12. What’s your favorite music/song at the moment?
We are kind of obsessed with French, Italian and American 70s music. Everybody’s Talkin’ by Harry Nilsson basically plays in constant loop in our apartment.
13. If someone visits Berlin for the first time, which places would you recommend to go to?
Amazza Che Pizza (Italian Cuisine)
Life (Japanese Cuisine)
Hallmann & Klee (Best Breakfast)
Annelies (Best Coffee)
